Try and keep your lighting more concentrated. Try not to cover a whole portion of the signature in strong lighting; that can distract from the focal. Use a soft brush with black as your color and darken your edges; lower the opacity to about 60-70%; this will help make your lighting seem more concentrated. Also, concentrate your light sources in areas where they look like they will naturally reflect off onto the render. For example, in this piece, a light source would have been good if placed by the render's left (my right) shoulder.
